-Unclip fence and drop wires on the ground.
-Push dead man shaft into ground to stabilize the post hole digger.
-Wrap wire around Wire Dawg and tie wire to wire. ( NOT to wire winder)
– Engage winder at idle speed and gradually increase speed after there are a few wraps of wire on wire winder.
-Lean the Wire Dawg back and forth slightly to evenly wind wire up and down on Wire Dawg.
-When end of wire is in sight, decrease speed and stop machine. Finish by securing ends of wire to wire ball.
-To remove wire bale, unlock and release cam, wire will simply drop off.
-Add the Wire Pup accessory to save wire for reuse. Wire can be stored on Wire Pup or remove bottom plate and release the cam to drop ball of wire.
We built the Wire Dawg fence winder to make our own fencing jobs easier. The first winder was built in September 2010. During the next 2 years there were multiple design changes that resulted in this final product. In 2013 we made the Wire Dawg available to the public. We found the Wire Dawg will pay for itself in saved labor cost. Rolls of junk wire may easily be transported to the recycling center.
Flat steel is ¼” and laser cut, round stock made of DOM material. Deadman pin is 1” solid steel. ½” Grade 8 bolts. Wire Dawg is powder coated orange for high visibility. Wire Dawg weighs under 70 lbs and the Wire Pup weighs 35 lbs. Both ship wrapped in shrink wrap and delivered by UPS.
Use the Wire Dawg to roll up multiple wires to be disposed of or recycled. Add the Wire Pup to roll up single strands of wire to be saved and reused.
